Graham Pritchard answered.

“Captain, what’s the issue?”

Evelyn kept her voice controlled.

“We have an unauthorized charter entry associated with this aircraft.”

Graham hesitated.

“That’s been handled.”

“By whom?”

“Management.”

Evelyn looked toward Arielle.

“Has the owner authorized it?”

A pause followed.

Then Graham said:

“Captain, don’t complicate this.”

Evelyn’s expression hardened.

“I need confirmation before proceeding.”

Graham sighed.

“You’re making a routine scheduling matter into a problem.”

Arielle stepped closer.

“Put him on speaker.”

Evelyn looked at her.

Then activated the speaker function.

“Graham?”

There was a pause.

“Yes?”

“This is Arielle Monroe.”

Silence.

Then a nervous laugh.

“Dr. Monroe. I wasn’t aware you were at the aircraft.”

“I gathered that.”

Graham attempted to recover.

“We were just coordinating a schedule adjustment.”

Arielle looked at the captain.

Then back at the phone.

“Who authorized an outside charter using my jet?”

Graham said nothing.

Arielle continued.

“Who approved the passenger list?”

Still no answer.

“And why did your cabin attendant refuse to let me board my own aircraft?”

Graham took a breath.

“Dr. Monroe, I’m sure there’s been a misunderstanding.”

Arielle’s voice remained quiet.

“Then preserve every relevant record and provide a written explanation.”

Graham hesitated.

“Of course.”

She continued.

“No records are to be altered. And no further flight is to be arranged using my aircraft without proper authorization.”

Then she looked toward Captain Shaw.

“Captain, please keep the aircraft secure and follow your operational procedures.”

Evelyn nodded.
